sailing of Japanese charter
vessels between Canton and Hong Kong
and to confirm my telegram No. 12
of the 14th January, which read
as follows:
"Immediate.
No. 12.
Your telegram No. 6. Japanese charter vessels in Hong Kong. Recommendations at A. and B. in your telegram No. 6 approved. In any agreement subsequently reached with Japanese authorities regarding movements of British shipping on Pearl River it should be expressly stated that His Majesty's Government reserve their full rights under the relevant treaties with China. Please repeat to Canton Tokyo Shanghai and Commander in Chief."
